How did you grow as a digital artist during this project? Over all throughout this project I think I didnt grow much as a digital artist. This is because I don’t have digital arts anymore. But I did use Roxy’s digital arts digital portfolio to find B-roll and images for our documentary.
How can at least four of the following Physics concepts be applied to a space settlement: circular motion, center of gravity, torque, and Newton’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd laws of motion? For a space settlement you need; center of gravity, circular motion Newton’s first, second and third law. We will need all of these to maintain a stable settlement.
Using evidence, please describe which of the following 21st Century Skills was your greatest strength during this project: collaboration, flexibility, communication, adaptation, critical thinking, refinement, creativity, and problem solving. I think i used collaboration and communication pretty well because when I wasn’t sure what to do I’d ask my group and do what they asked.
Using evidence, please describe which of the following 21st Century Skills was your greatest area for growth during this project: collaboration, flexibility, communication, adaptation, critical thinking, refinement, creativity, and problem solving. I think that I could work on problem solving more because I felt like I would always ask too many questions when I wouldnt understand something
Trebuchet Project Reflection
In physics we did a class project. During this project we had to choose a specific trebuchet from a certain time era and research it. After we completed the research we then constructed the trebuchet that our group had chosen. We created a list of supplies we would need to built it, we gave the list to Tina and she went to Home Depot and got everything we needed.
(a) In order to successfully launch a projectile from your trebuchet you need to have enough counter weight so that it is heavy enough to throw your projectile to farther location. Your projectile first starts with potential energy (when the object has no motion or action) then converts to kinetic energy (when the object has some sort of motion or movement). It goes from potential to kinetic when you launch your projectile. Your projectile has velocity (the speed of something in a given direction) once it begins to launch. The velocity varies according to how much force you use to launch. Once your projectile gets velocity it will also get an increasing amount acceleration (the rate of change of velocity of an object). Your object also has projectile motion (a form of motion experienced by an object or particle that is thrown near Earth’s surface and moves along a curved path under the action of gravity).
During the trebuchet project, we were community learners. What it means to be a community learner is about using collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. In this project we used collaboration to talk about and decide what trebuchet to build, and how to build it. We used communication to find a place to launch our trebuchets on the night of the exhibition. While using collaborations and communication we were also using critical thinking as well. We showed critical thinking when we had to construct the prototype and again when we had to build our final trebuchet. And last but not least we used creativity while making the prototype and the final piece.
During this project I struggled with helping build the trebuchet. I struggled with this because I’m not good at using tools such as the drill or a hammer. I’m not good with a drill because i seem to always strip the screw. Meanwhile, I’m not good with a hammer because I always miss the nail while attempting to hammer something in and end up hitting my finger or the wood behind it.
In my group I brought moral support and cheered them on while building our project. I felt this was helpful (not really) because I would try to calm everyone down during an argument or a disagreement. I also would help hold something in place while another group member would screw, nail, and/or measure something. This helped because I would hold a piece of wood in place so my groupe could attach it together.
